Each door type offers its own unique challenges, with some requiring specialist products to deliver the high standard of safety customers have come to expect from our door hinge guards. If you have a pivot or swing door however, you’ll want to read on…
Premium protection for pivot and swing doors
Calls for better use of door safety devices, like our Fingersafe guards, have been echoed across many industry sectors. Yet, many settings are already taking matters into their own hands to prevent devastating yet preventable injuries.
Our Pivotsafe finger pinch protectors have been specifically designed and developed with pivot and swing doors in mind. This industrial finger guard strip protects wandering fingers from injury across the entire length of the door, using durable materials and robust construction to ensure a finger protection measure that lasts for years to come.
With UV and impact resistance coming as standard, our Pivotsafe guards allow for a 180-degree opening while reducing the risk of door-related finger injuries that can so easily occur with this particular door type.
Defining a pivot, swing or double swing door
Pivotsafe guards are designed for use on swing doors, double swing doors and pivot doors, but what defines these specific door types?
A swing door is just that; it uses two hinges to open or swing either inwards or outwards, and can be made using timber, aluminium, plastic, steel or glass. We’ll let Euroline Steel Windows and Doors explain how double swing or pivot doors differ:
“Double swinging doors, unlike single swinging doors, are mounted on double-action hinges or pivot hinges. This allows the door to swing in both directions and automatically return to its center position. Double action hinges, unlike single action hinges, do not require door stops or a traditional door jamb. Simple and quick installation of double action hinges is possible.”
Swing and pivot doors are suitable for use in both residential and commercial settings, but are more popular in the latter.
Embrace the versatility of Pivotsafe
Pivotsafe guards really are as versatile as they come. These durable and expertly designed finger guards can be fitted on interior or exterior swing or pivot doors, as well as installed on the push or pull side.
Like all Fingersafe guards, Pivotsafe protectors can be installed in minutes and easily retrofitted to existing doors. Pivotsafe is supplied in two metre lengths which can be cut to size. They’re also available in black with an aluminium trim to guarantee an aesthetically pleasing finish and an effective preventative measure.
