02 Apr Fingersafe History
In 1992 the entire concept of door finger protection was revolutionised by a British inventor, Chris Yeomans, who founded the company Fingersafe® which has become a worldwide trademark.
Chris Yeomans business has carried on going from strength to strength. In 1996, a partnership was formed with James McCallar Jr, resulting in Fingersafe USA Inc. Since then we have dominated the USA and Canadian markets. Fingersafe® now regularly ships the products internationally.
He moved the business to larger premises in Rayleigh, Essex in 2006 and his daughter Gina Fasey joined the Fingersafe® group of companies as CEO and has since taken the company to another level, further encouraging the use of the finger safety products that Fingersafe® offer.
We had BIM (Building Information Modelling) objects created in 2015, BIM objects are digital representations of building products and materials that can go into intelligent building models. Manufacturer-specific BIM objects contain 3D representations of the product along with associated metadata, such as Omniclass classification, material, model number, MEP connections and service information.
In 2016, we invented Gatesafe, to protect fingers and arms being caught in domestic and commercial gates.
